Rob Tognoni Live at the Village Habach

Tomorrow is CD release party at the Village Habach. And I can’t make it

At the moment I’m still in the north of Germany and will also miss the other German concerts of Rob this year because of my busy schedule. But I went to my archive and have some photos of Rob Tognoni and his trio from March 31st 2007 with me. And there he played in the – Village in Habach! The photos were also available in colour on my old website. When I restarted my current website in 2013, I didn’t publish the old photos again. But I will do that now. Every week I will fetch something from the archive and present it here. Even if not all photos are perfect, it is fun to travel a few years into the past.

At that time I had just started photographing live music in small clubs. My equipment was relatively simple, my budget was just enough for a Nikon D200 and two nice manual Zeiss lenses (50 and 85mm). At the end of 2006, I gave the Nikon a Katzeye matte screen for better manual focusing right on the first day in an “operation without anesthesia” (and thus the loss of the Nikon warranty, but I didn’t care) and then I started. Measured by the technical image quality with my current Leica equipment, these photos can’t quite keep up. But I think they still have enough character to be shown here again after 11 1/2 years.

I still remember this evening very well – I was very enthusiastic about Rob’s dynamics and sound. And in the Village you are of course as always very close to it – actually already in the very middle. I have 4 CDs of Rob Tognoni, but in fact I have lost track of him a little over the last few years. That will change – I will follow the tour calendar for 2019. Then it should work out with a meet again. And until then there will be the new double album from the Village from February 2018!

In this regard: Rob & Band, rock the Village and have a great evening
