The English Garden in Munich is a paradise for dogs, surfers and people getting hungry after a walk.
Between some meetings this week in Munich I had some time to take a walk in the English Garden. During the week around noon plus nice weather this is like an one-hour-holiday.
Not to be misunderstood – this kind of holiday you can find also in North Frisia or Hanover – every location has a different program for that
A lot of dogs with their masters were around – really a motley crew. The pusher was a greyhound dressed in a winter coat – he was constantly looking for new playmates for races.
I was taking a tour towards the House of Arts – I was curious if there were surfers around even during the winter time.
And indeed two surfers were active riding the icecreek wave. Notice the police car on the bridge
I moved on to the Monopteros to catch a view from the hill over the garden and the city scenery.
This nice little temple dated from the 30’s of the second to last century is always worth a short visit.
The dome with the beautiful ornaments looks extra lovely in this light.
I went on my way back towards Königinstreet – with a little detour to the Milch Häusl near the veterinary clinic to have a little snack and a non-alcoholic glogg.
With the charming interior of a quaint ski hut…
… if you are in a rush you order at the window …
… and also the exterior is set up according to the season. The cable car cabins are heated!
