Again the Blues Caravan by Ruf Records is touring through the European clubs.
I have seen the show on February, 10th at the Blues Garage in Isernhagen
The club was well attended and the atmosphere was increasing steadily through the evening.
After the short introduction by Thomas Ruf and an intro with all musicians on stage Bart Walker started his program. He also used to play with slide and did some acrobatics.
Jimmy Bowskill went on stage next, in contrast to Walker’s Southern sound he turned up two numbers more aggressive – both in terms of vocals and guitar, as well as the activity on stage. For me, actually almost a number too much – maybe I’m already too old
After a short break with Joanne Shaw Taylor the only woman of the evening performed on stage. She was supported by Jimmy Bowskill on keyboards. I personally liked her guitar play best that night.
The last part of the evening all five musicians played together again.
A more detailed report on the program you can find for example at hooked-on-music. John Hurd has also a nice report with pictures on his site 3 songs Bonn.
An album with more pictures shot that night I have uploaded to flickr.
My conclusion: again a successful event for artists and audience at the Blues Garage. The Blues Caravan takes several stops until May.
